Merchant dashboard update, March 2026: a booking screen with time slots and an hourly schedule, plus tips next to form fields

This merchant dashboard update rebuilds the booking screen your host works from. Pick a time and see which tables are free, booked or already seated, then check the whole day for every table on one schedule.

Free tables by time slot

The booking screen now opens with a Time Slots panel on the left. Pick a date and the panel splits the day into half-hour slots, each with a count of tables that are Available, Booked and Occupied. Click a slot and the Table Map in the middle shows that moment, so the host can answer "do you have a table for four at eight?" without paging through bookings.

Below the map, the Schedule panel lays out every table as a row, with its zone, across the venue's opening hours. Each booking sits as a bar on its table's row and a red line marks the current time, so free gaps and tables running late stand out at a glance. Click a booking on the schedule to open it.

Tips next to form fields in the merchant dashboard

An info icon now sits next to the fields that trip people up: in the menu, section, dish, zone and table forms and in the setup steps for a new venue. Hover it to see what the field is for, with an example: a menu name like "Breakfast Menu" or "Bar Menu", a table name like "VIP-2" or "Terrace-3" that staff can spot on the floor. New staff fill the forms in right the first time.

Fixes

Also in this update:

• Bookings button on a zone's tables page opens the booking screen for that zone again.
• Zones with more than ten tables now show every table on the booking map.
• Dishes with allergens and add-ons save without losing either.
• Working hours: the time picker for opening and closing times works as expected.
• Staff phone numbers are checked when you add an employee, with a clear message when the format is wrong.

How to get it

Everything above is live in the merchant dashboard, with nothing to install. The booking screen is part of the Booking feature, so it works on plans that include table booking. The field tips and the fixes apply to every account.
